Pictures Taken by Mink.
Here they are folks, in all their wondrous splendor! Spend some time
viewing the wierdness that is images of Mink's life. Here we go!
Recently resurrected old stuff that Maybe We Shouldn't Have
- Insanity Wears a Green Hat at Viacom
- Yep, that's me on October 11th 1997, at the Viacom store in
downtown Chicago wearing some kinda way overpriced pukey green
hat for sale. "Picked out for you by MTV" or some kinda thing
like that. Fit for an insane chick to be wearing. My
friend Jen took
that picture.
Stuff Mink Scanned November 20th, 2000.
- My kitchen
- This is my wacky wild kitchen. Note the Starship Pooperprise
hanging from the cabinet handle.
Stuff Mink Scanned March 27th, 2000.
- My roommate Kasumi
- This is my roommate Kasumi (otherwise known as Cat #1) emerging
out of the shadows on the floor in the living room. Her name
means "fog or mist" and she is a sweet grey stripey one.
- Kasumi in the puff chair
- Kasumi likes to sleep in the puff chair when she's not running
around the house in the Everlasting Urbana Cat Race and
Soccer Game.
- My other roommate Kurosuke
- This is my other roommate Kurosuke (otherwise known as Cat #2)
lounging around on the floor. He is a black cat, hence the name
"Kurosuke." He is Cat #2 simply because Cat #1 can still kick his
ass in a fight, and she is not going to give up Top Cat status
anytime soon, though not for lack of his trying. The cats are friendly
and they like to sleep in a pile and wash each other when they're
not running all over the place, shredding plastic bags, etc.
- Follinger Auditorium
- This is the round auditorium on the UIUC quadrangle, some time
in the early 1900s.
- Mink's Front Room
- This is the wonderful room where my home desk is. It used to be
a porch but is now fully part of the house with an awesome
view of the street. People I know walking by often tap on the
windows and then I can go out and talk to them, which is awesome.
I'm planning on building another porch to the side of this one
this summer so the house will have a porch AND this awesome
room.
- Mink's Main Room
- This is the main room. You can see the puff chair and maps.
- Cherry Tree in Washington, D.C.
- Last March I went to Washington D.C. to see the cherry blossoms.
This is a nice one.
- West Side Park
- From a postcard of West Side Park in Champaign (on the west side
of downtown) from way back in the day.
- Old Map of San Diego
- This is an old map of San Diego I got for 25 cents.

- Espresso Royale, from the patio
- Sitting outside Espresso Royale on a warm breezy day, sipping an
ice coffee and gazing up through the honey locust trees...
- Mink at Work!
- This is Mink in her super spiffy 4th floor window office in CSL.
Wipe that drool off your chin, please.
- Mink at Coffee!
- This is me standing in front of the pastry case at the Espresso
Royale in Urbana. Sigfried took this picture. This was shortly
before going to work, above. I go to coffee every morning before
I head to the office. Gotta get my blood up to the requisite
caffeine percentage before the ol' noggin kicks in.
- A Grey Day
- A storm was approaching my office, and I had to run outside.
This is looking down Main Street, at the intersection with
Mathews.
- Humid Grey Day Summer Leaves
- Looking up at leaves against a darkening sky on a hot summer
afternoon before a thunderstorm crashes in and cools things off
for a while...
- Redbud trees by the ceramics building
- Redbud trees. It's definitely spring when the redbud trees are
in full bloom, things are warming up, and I'm wearing only one
pair of pants. This building is on Goodwin, right on the way from
Espresso Royale to the office. I pass it daily.
- More redbud trees
- Scripps Pier
- Scripps Pier in La Jolla, CA. I took this during my vacation for
1997 (vacation 1998 pictures will be up shortly!) but only now
got around to scanning it. I found some guy's wallet under the
pier. Yes, I turned it in.
- UCSD Eucalyptus Groves
- This is the landscape you walk around in while going to classes
at UCSD. As for the blue tennis net/chain link fence thing, I'm
told that it is indeed Art. It's part of the Stuart Collection.
- Banyan tree
- This is all ONE tree. The various trunks are roots that touched
the ground, took root there, and grew and thickened into
secondary trunks. You can see some new roots hanging down that
haven't found anything to root into yet.
- High School Minkie in the library
- Me in the library in high school, in Japan. This picture was taken
in 1987, I believe.
Photos Mink Scanned February 22nd, 1998.
- Mink standing at the Ant-wives.
- This is a huge tree in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. I am on my
vacation for 1997. I used to come sleep in the roots of this
tree on occasion. Great place for writing, too.
- The Boneyard.
- I actually like the Boneyard. This is the section two
blocks from my house, in Urbana, in the summer of 1997. I love
to stand and look at it on my way home. Unfortunately now they
are building yet another ugly apartment building next to it on
the right side. Sigh.
- Carle Park!
- This is a park near my house I love to go to, again in summer
1997. At night it's wondrous with fireflies blinking in the space
under the trees, and the rustling of leaves. On the other side of
the park are the best swings in town, perfect for 27 year old kids
to play on.
- Leaves!
- This is a huge picture of some sugar maple leaves at Carle Park
in the summertime. Imagine they are rustling around in a faint
breeze while you stand there wearing very thin shorts and a T-shirt
on a hot and humid late afternoon.
- Izumi and John
- Izumi and John having some coffee at a coffeehouse in San Francisco
during my vacation for 1997.
- Mink, at 21 years old
- Yep, I'm actually 21 in this picture. This was the picture on
my alien registration card.
- Mink on the cliffs of California
- Yet more fun driving back from San Francisco on my vacation for
1997.
- Mink and Mommy Mink
- This is Mommy Mink playing with Little Mink sometime in the early
1970's on a snowy winter afternoon. Notice the eye-popping scarf.
Mink now wears this on occasion, as it reminds of Mommy Mink.
- Stoughton Street, Urbana
- Yet another picture of Mink's street in the snow.
- Mink's Cool Office
- This is Mink's super spiffy 4th floor window office in CSL. Wipe
that drool off your chin, please.
- Peggy and Julian
- These are two peevers relaxing at the Caribou Coffee in
Atlanta, GA, during Atlanta Peevefest '98, over the
MLK three day weekend.
- Yokosuka shopping district
- This is the Yokosuka shopping district circa 1985. I used to wander
this street often, standing and reading at all the bookstores
wishing I could read better. Practice, practice, practice!
