July 3rd, walking into work, the clouds were silky and just draped over town in clearly defined layers. They were stratified in the same way that lenticular clouds over mountains are stratified, but covering the entire sky in languid waves. After a while it was clear that parts of these were being disturbed as the air became more unstable. Perhaps half an hour after these pictures were taken, it thunderstormed like CRAZY. These are the street lights on Lincoln Ave. in Urbana.
